Mozambique testing ISDB-T
(Mozambique ISDB-T) Japan’s Hitachi Kokusai Electric will conduct demonstration testing of the Japanese digital terrestrial television broadcast system in the Republic of Mozambique this month. This test is being conducted as part of a research and investigation contract from Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications that aims to encourage the adoption of the ISDB-T system throughout southern Africa. The Southern African Development Community (SADC), of which Mozambique is a member, is currently investigating which system it will adopt for digital terrestrial broadcasting while considering trends in surrounding countries. Hitachi Kokusai will construct a digital terrestrial television broadcast system and will broadcast television programs over this system. The test will also confirm that the signals can be received by digital televisions, One Seg mobile TV receivers, and similar devices.
